MADRID, April 21 (2021) –
Xbox announced this wednesday unlock ‘online’ multiplayer mode for free games, like Fortnite or Apex Legends, which will be available without paying a subscription on Xbox Live Gold.
The decision made by Xbox means that from this Wednesday players will be able to access list of 50 titles with ‘online’ multiplayer that are distributed under the ‘free-to-play’ format, directly from xbox.com, as the company has reported on its official blog.
Unlocking responds to a demand of the players themselves, which, contrary to what happened on the Sony and Nintendo platforms, had to have an Xbox Live Gold subscription to be able to play free online multiplayer.
The list of games, which will expand as new titles hit the market, includes Fortnite, Apex Legends, Call of Duty: Warzone, Destiny 2 and Rocket League, among others.
