– Symbols: wireless communication.
The new candidates who aspire to be part of the collection are quite varied and are inspired by everyday situations, objects or representative animals. So far none is confirmed, but they are the only ones who managed to pass several approval filters and, if chosen, they would be part of the final selection of Unicode 15.0.
What is the process for approving new emoticons in Unicode?
The process for approving new emojis is divided into several steps. First, they must be approved by Unicode Consortium, a platform to which Apple, Adobe, Google, Microsoft, Yahoo! belong, among others. Afterwards, since they are endorsed by a subcommittee in charge, an official proposal is made and a vote is carried out in which Apple, Google, Microsoft and Emojipedia participate.
Finally, when the emojis are finally approved, Google and Apple they begin to incorporate them into their respective operating systems. The same happens in social networks, where each new emoji may slightly change its appearance.
