Two years after the release of the novel ‘Dear Edward’, it was revealed that Apple TV + plans to bring the story to the screen in ten episodes

dear edward‘ tells the story of a 12-year-old boy who survives a plane crash that kills nearly two hundred passengers, including his family.

As Edward and a diverse cast of people affected by the tragedy try to make sense of life after the accident, unexpected friendships, romances and communities are formed.

It is a heartbreaking, inspiring and uplifting story about survival, resilience and the connection between people.

AppleTV+ announced that the production would be under the production of Jason Katims, who has already participated in projects such as Friday Night Lights, Parenthood, As We See It, among others.

According to a first report, ten episodes are planned, although the story could be lengthened. Fisher Stevens will be in charge of directing the pilot episode.

AppleTV+ also revealed the name of part of the cast that will be part of the adaptation of ‘Dear Edward’:

  • Connie Britton, who worked on projects like The White Lotus and Friday Night Lights.
  • Taylor Schilling, who was in Pam and Tommy and Orange is the New Black
  • Colin O’Brien, who participated in Mr. Harrigan’s Phone and Wonka. O’Brien will be the one who plays the boy, the protagonist of the drama.

At the moment there are no more details of the production, but without doubting some there is already great expectation in its development.
