Abraham Ancer became the fourth Mexican golfer to earn a title on the PGA Tour, the premier American men’s professional golf circuit and the largest in the world.
This Sunday, Ancer obtained a first place after beating American Sam Burns and Japanese Hideki Matsuyama on the second playoff hole. Despite being an extremely close competition in which the three athletes had to tie the tie on the second hole after having coincided at -16 with par, the Mexican had a precise movement that ended up giving him the championship.

Ancer was the best in achieving the birdie which gave him the title and made him the fourth Mexican to do so. Before Abraham Ancer, César Sanudo was the first in the history of Mexico to obtain it in the Azalea Open Invitational in 1970. Later, Víctor Regalado won it at the Quad Cities Open in 1981 and the last was Carlos Ortíz, in 2020, at the Houston Open.
