What would it be like to live on Mars?

The four selected participants will live for a year on a 1,700-foot surface called Mars Dune Alpha which will simulate all the difficulties faced by astronauts traveling to Mars for the first time.

Some of those conditions are slow communication. Messages take at least 11 minutes to reach Mars from Earth and vice versa, so in the event of an emergency, astronauts would have to wait 22 minutes for instructions.

In addition, the climatic conditions are not favorable either, since the module in which the crew members of this simulation will live will be below the -46 ºC that characterize the red planet.
