With the purchase of Activision-Blizzard, Microsoft acquires some of the best-selling franchises and the most players in the entire industry
Less than a month into the year, microsoft announced the intention to purchase Activision-Blizzard for $68.7 billion.
The company pointed out that with the acquisition it seeks to accelerate the growth of the gaming industry in the different categories.
“This acquisition will accelerate the growth of Microsoft’s gaming business across mobile, PC, console and cloud, and provide building blocks for the metaverse.”
This news has generated great controversy around the world, however it should be remembered that the regulators still need to give the go-ahead.
With this purchase, microsoft will have the entire catalog of Activision, in this way it would be done with some of the best-selling franchises and with more players in the entire industry.
