Within a year of establishing the brand, Japan managed to double the world record for internet data transfer speed
One of the big problems with Internet connection, is that it does not meet the speeds that people sometimes require. However, this could change since it would be one step away from high speeds 5G.
In Japan the world record of the internet speed, which had been imposed a year ago and is expected to be available in all countries in a few years.
A team of scientists from the national institute of information technology and telecommunications of the Japanese country, achieved a speed of 319 Terabits per second.
This speed doubles the previous world record of 179 Tbps, set by Japanese and English researchers in 2020.
According to experts from Japan this is the equivalent of downloading more than 10,000 high definition movies in one second. It should be noted that currently the internet connection speeds in the world for the home range from 10 Mbps to even 1 Gbps.
How did they do it?
In order to break the world record for the internet speed, the researchers used a fiber optic line that had four cores, instead of one.
“The new system begins its transmission process with a 552-channel comb laser fired at various wavelengths. This is then sent through dual polarization modulation, with some wavelengths going before others, to generate multiple sequences of signals, each of which in turn is directed to one of the four cores within. of fiber optics “
In this way, signal distortion can be reduced in long-distance transfers. The creators carried out the experiments in a system that simulated a distance of 3,000 kilometers of optical fiber, sending the data by laser and using an amplifier every 70 kilometers.
As a result they managed to break the world record for the internet speed. According to its creators, its system is compatible with the current infrastructure, so it could be implemented in the future.
