India wants to develop its own operating system

To compete with iOS and Android, India would be looking to develop its own local operating system and develop the sector’s technology industry

iOS and Android are the operating systems most used worldwide, however its popularity could be at risk and it is that the India wants to develop its own local service.

A proposal sent by the Minister of Electronics and IT States, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, seeks to promote the development of his operating system.

“There is no third party. So in many ways there is a lot of interest from the ministry; and the Indian government to create a new operating system for mobile phones. We talk to people. We are developing policies for this,” Chandrasekhar said.

To reach its goal the India seek new companies and suitable academic institutions to develop the new operating system.

This initiative is aligned with that of the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, through which they seek to have leaders in different industries.

“It is important to have clear goals. Once we have clear goals and what we need to achieve, all policies and actions will be in line with that,” Chandrasekhar said.

Yes India want to create your own operating system; then you need developers who are interested in writing software for it.

Also, to bring the Indian national operating system to life, companies must adapt hardware for it; write drivers and release appropriate devices.

The Chandrasekhar ministry indicated that this new system can be attractive for domestic and foreign investment and raise capital.

The idea is that it can reinforce the technology industry in the region with the creation of electronic products with which it is intended to generate around 300 billion dollars by the year 2026.

The products will not only be local, but India expects to reach approximately 120 billion dollars in product exports alone.

This could be a serious blow to Apple and Google, as the companies have considered India as an important market. 70% of iPhone sold are manufactured in this country.
