Cyberpunk 2077 It is an endless black hole of side missions and activities. Everything you do in the not too distant future will reward you with XP and Street Cred. Perhaps you’ve been playing the game since launch and wish you could recoup those initial stat investments? Maybe you are new and want a push in the right direction? In any case, here are some helpful tips to quickly level up in Cyberpunk 2077.
XP vs. Streed Cred
There are two significantly different leveling schools in Cyberpunk 2077. Players will earn XP, which will go towards their overall character level, and Street Cred, which will unlock access to better equipment in the game. While Cyberpunk follows the same general plan for leveling up in an open world RPG, there are a few things players will want to keep in mind.
For starters, the bonuses you’ll unlock with High Street Cred far outweigh the passive benefits you’ll gain from being a higher tier (at least during the initial game). Street Cred will grant V access to better cyberware, weapons and upgrades.
Base XP will reward V with buff points that can be assigned to your preferred skill tree. It depends on how you play your game. However, there are some arguments for investing in Body and Intelligence. For starters, the stronger you are, the better cars you can hijack and the more doors you can force open. The smarter you are, the more technology you can hack and the more information you have access to. Bringing both of them to level 6 will (literally) open several doors for V. After that, feel free to assign as you see fit.
How to earn XP quickly
Side jobs and events will be your best friends when trying to earn both XP and Street Cred. Completing them will always reward V with a lump sum of XP and Eurodollars. Raising the overall level of V will reward you with some bonus points to assign, as well as an attribute point. Here are some minor tricks you can use to increase your overall XP earnings while completing side jobs.
You will get a small amount of XP every time you successfully hack something. If you are crouching behind a wall waiting to wipe out a group of Tiger Claws, you must absolutely use up all available RAM before participating. Successfully distracting enemies, blinding them, and disabling cameras will give V huge XP boosts. It will also make taking down that group of enemies much easier.
Stealth takedowns will also grant bonus XP. Use stealth in conjunction with Hacking to maximize the amount of XP earned from a specific side job. Don’t be discouraged if stealth doesn’t seem feasible. Sometimes a group of enemies in an alley will have to be shot down in open firefight.
Run and shoot
While hacking and stealth takedowns will reward V with extra XP, they are both time-consuming activities. The alternative to earning extra XP from one side job is to run and shoot through the side job to get to the next one. While this is not recommended for actual jobs and missions (anything with an objective / waypoint), the run and shoot strategy will maximize the number of NCPD contracts V can complete.
These NCPD contracts range from information on organized crime to active crimes in the area. They are marked by a variety of different blue symbols on the map. Drive to the area, eliminate the enemies and gather the necessary evidence to complete the event. While you can still hack and stay stealthy while doing this, it’s honestly better to go with your guns on and get to the next one faster.
How to earn Street Cred quickly
Everything mentioned above will earn you Street Cred in addition to base XP. However, there are also a few ways to maximize V’s Street Cred earnings.
Grind NCPD contracts
These bounties will not only increase V’s overall XP, but will also fill him up with Street Cred. As mentioned above, these contracts are spawned throughout Night City. It is almost impossible not to see one on every block. Kick the door, shoot the scene and claim the reward that awaits you.
The Samurai jacket
The Samurai Jacket is a cosmetic item that will increase V’s Street Cred earnings by 5%. Found as a quest reward after completing “Chippin ‘In”, a side job offered by Rogue. You will start by meeting her at The Afterlife. From there, complete the mission steps and claim your reward. This side quest will be available towards the end of the game’s main story. You will recognize the Samurai jacket immediately, as it is the main piece of clothing depicted in almost all of the Cyberpunk 2077 promotional materials.
Top level concerts
As you’ve probably noticed, different missions have different levels of difficulty assigned. By leveling up your Street Cred, you will have access to those more difficult missions. Completing them will earn you more Street Cred! The two go hand in hand. Once he has unlocked higher tiers, V will have access to all kinds of upgraded weapons and Cyberware with varying degrees of rarity.
