A few days after the 2021 Hot Sale, it was revealed that Mexicans plan to spend between 3 and 5 thousand pesos, electronics and fashion are the favorite categories
Hot sale is one of the biggest events of online purchases on Mexico. This year the offers will begin from May 23 and will run until May 31.
On this date, companies launch different promotions in different products: from travel, technology, electronics, clothing, furniture, footwear, beauty items, sports, children and items for pets.
Days before the Hot Sale 2021, the Mexican Association of Online Sales (AMVO) revealed the screenings expected for the eighth edition.
Most of the people interested in buying something are men (59%) between 25 and 44 years old. Mexico City continues to be the region with the highest number of buyers.
Although the inhabitants of the North, Southeast and Bajío regions are more interested in making a purchase during the campaign.
Eight out of 10 Mexicans, between 18 and 55 years old, warn that they are interested in buying something during the Hot Sale 2021 and 23% said they plan to spend between 3,000 and 5,000 pesos.
20% said they plan to allocate a budget of between 7,000 and 10,000 pesos. According to the agency, 2 out of 10 Mexicans will spend more than 10,000 pesos, this 20% is less than last year.
However, it is expected that in the Hot Sale 2021 people over 45 years of age join the online sales. According to a survey, 22% of people are willing to participate, with a greater presence of the segment between 45 and 54 years old.
AMVO found a decrease in purchase intention of Mexicans between 25 and 34 years old. It was also revealed that there will be a 14% increase in new buyers.

Although previously the travel sector was a large category, due to the pandemic it is expected that there will not be large purchases during the Hot Sale 2021.
“Today we have more than 550 companies registered for the eighth edition of Hot Sale, which represents an increase in participation of 25% versus 2020,” said Pierre-Claude Blaise, CEO of AMVO.
