A few days before the premiere of Adam Wingard’s Godzilla vs Kong has raised more than 123 million dollars worldwide
The film industry has been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Despite the measures that have been taken in some countries, certain films have been released in the cinemas.
Due to the low acceptance of the public, some productions have chosen to also be launched in the streamig platforms. Nevertheless, Godzilla vs Kong seems to have ended the poor attendance and a few days after its launch it has become the best theatrical release.

Before its release, the film starring Alexander Skarsgård and Millie Bobby Brown was expected to fetch $ 121.8 million. A figure that was surprisingly surpassed.
According to these data Godzilla vs Kong has surpassed Tenet (2020), the first ‘blockbuster’ to hit theaters in the pandemic, and Wonder Woman 1984.
It should be remembered that the film was barely released in the United States, so this figure lacks one of the most important markets in audience.
Is it the best premiere of the franchise?
Although it is a large number, MonsterVerse revealed that the first installment Godzilla (2014) holds the record for the best premiere with more than 196 million dollars raised. Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) -third installment- is in second position with 177.8 million dollars. Finally, Kong: La Isla Calavera (2017) -second installment- reached more than 146 million dollars.
Godzilla vs Kong features Kaylee Hottle, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Eiza González, Julian Dennison, Demian Bichir and Kyle Chandler.
The film is one of the most anticipated films of 2021. The film hit theaters and HBO Max on March 25, 2021.
