More than two decades have passed since the release of (Gladiator) Gladiator, one of Russell Crowe’s most iconic films. Fans have been waiting for the sequel for a long time and finally there is news. It has been revealed that Chris Hemsworth could be the protagonist of the new film.

Chris Hemsworth would be Russell Crowe’s son in Gladiator 2
Gladiator premiered in May 2000 and was a box office success. It won five Oscars out of the twelve it was nominated for, including Best Picture and Best Actor.

According to New IdeaChris Hemsworth, known for his role as Thor in Marvel, would play the son of Máximo Décimo Meridio, Crowe’s character in Gladiator; while Russell would be the producer.
Hemsworth and Crowe have already been spotted together in Sydney. The medium mentions that Chris’s wife, Elsa Pataky, has spoken about the probability of the project:
“She often jokes that they could easily pass themselves off as father and son. Russell thinks he might be the only man who credibly portrays his son in a Gladiator sequel. “

The same source claims that Crowe and Hemsworth are “carefully considering the idea” and have “spent hours pondering the ideas in the script.”
The history of the sequel would still be a mystery, since in the first tape, Máximo’s only son was murdered. Could it be that he had another child? Some ideas also suggest that it could be the reincarnation of Máximo.
